applied to the luxury sector
Pelletteria Monti Azzurri: a case study of continuous improvement in Made in Italy fashion.
Pelletteria Monti Azzurri S.r.l. is a leading company in the Marche region, based in Tolentino (MC). The company specializes in the production of high-quality leather goods for some of the most important international luxury brands.
With a strong artisanal vocation and a structured production capacity, Pelletteria Monti Azzurri has decided to embark on a path of continuous improvement to increase its competitiveness and respond increasingly effectively to market needs.
Over the past few months, the company has collaborated with Leanbet to launch a Kaizen program aimed at:
✔ Improving the production layout
✔ Reducing in-process inventory
✔ Tracking production more precisely
✔ Digitalizing quality control processes
✔ Increasing collaboration between departments
The project began with direct observation in the gemba, using tools such as the Spaghetti Chart and flow analysis, and then redefining spaces and production cells, ultimately achieving the ambitious goal of consistently producing the bags the market demands every day.
Self-quality tools, inventory tracking, and an initial experiment with Artificial Intelligence technologies for data analysis and attendance tracking were introduced.
A journey of small daily improvements, built on listening, availability, and a willingness to get involved on the part of everyone involved.
